Tanzania is one of the unique destinations on the African continent that has yet to be discovered by many. It is a land of many wonders, such as its incredible fauna and flora.
For many years we have been aware of the importance of our environment and its fragility in today's modern world in Tanzania. This concern has guided our policy towards environmental protection, which will benefit not only nature but all mankind.
We have continually devoted our efforts to the preservation of our country's natural heritage in order to preserve the delicate balance between man and his environment which has always existed in Tanzania.
As a result of these efforts, our beautiful parks, reserves and sites can be admired by a growing number of visitors today, who can enjoy the magical atmosphere of our land. Wherever possible we have preserved its authentic character, which is the source of unique and unforgettable emotions.
We welcome all enthusiastic and respectful nature lovers to Tanzania, where they will be able to appreciate the results of our endeavours to preserve our wonderful natural resources.
Tanzania has a higher percentage of protected wildlife areas than any other country an earth.
Tanzania is where you can find the second highest point in the world which is the snow capped Mt. Kilimanjaro tower, majestically looking over the horizon, the exotic island of Zanzibar, the African grass land of the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, the crater at the source of life, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Lake Natron, the breeding place for flamingos, Ruaha, Mikumi National Park, and Selous Game Reserve. Tanzania offers excellent cultural tourism, beach holidays, game hunting, historical and archaeological ventures, and certainly the best wildlife photographic safaris in the continent.
The tourism industry provides excellent investment opportunities in the construction and management of hotels, lodges and restaurants, infrastructure ventures, aviation projects, training institutions, and tour operations.
The industry mission statement that forms the basis of Tanzania's tourism policy is to develop sustainable quality tourism that is ecologically friendly to the preservation and restoration of the environment and its people's culture. In so doing the industry seeks to maximize the net gains that emanate from the various tourist activities. It is for this reason that the government is now highly concerned with the improvement of the infrastructure, quality and diversity. It eases destination entry formalities, is in favour of a relaxation of foreign exchange regulations and controls revision of applicable taxes and is concerned with the maintenance of peace, stability and security. As a stimulant, the private sector is increasingly investing in the various tourist plans, in improvement of destination access from major sources, and within marketing in the promotion and training of human resources.
