This trekking tour brings you up to the summit of this amazing volcano and to the thousands of flamingos at Lake Natron. We start in the morning shadow to reach the peak for sunrise.

Day 1
We will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer you to Arusha. It will take almost 1 hour to drive. Dinner and accomodation will be in the lodge in Arusha. We will give you all informations about your holiday trough your driver and guide there.
Day 2
After breakfast we will start our safari from Arusha to Mto wa Mbu and then straight trough the Great Rift Valley by sandy roads to a masaai campsite / tented camp near Lake Natron. The final part of the drive is through mini-calderas punctuating the landscape. The camp is located at the base of Rift Valley, with the Ngorongoro Highlands above. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.
Day 3
Today after breakfast we have a short drive to Lake Natron for a small walking to see thousands of flamingos. After lunch we make another short hike to the Engaresero waterfalls with a naturally formed jacuzzi! Dinner and short stay until 11.30 p.m. at the camp.
Day 4
At around midnight we leave the campsite and make the short drive to the base of Oldonyo Lengai. We start to climb and the path is quite difficult underfoot and steep the whole way. At the rim it turns into powdery ash, it feels like walking through deep soft snow. We reach the summit for sunrise. This volcano is active and glowing rock can often be seen bubbling out of the numerous ash cones on the top. We descend in the late morning and reach the camp in the afternoon. Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 5
We can use the last morning for a final walk at Lake Natron or for swimming in the waterfall before we drive back to Arusha. In the evening we transfer you to the airport / start the safari program.
