Day 1
We will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer you to Arusha. It will
take almost 1 hour to drive. Dinner and accomodation will be in the lodge in
Arusha. We will give you all informations about your holiday trough your driver and
guide there.

Day 2
After the breakfast we transfer to Momella Gate inside the Arusha National Park. After registration and the payments of fees we will begin our trek with a park ranger trough grasslands and Montana forest. On the way we can spot some birds and black and white colobus monkeys. In the afternoon we reach the Miriakamba Hut at 2.514 m for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3
That day we will have a steep climb ahead from the Miriakamba Hut up to the saddle below Little Meru. Afterwards we ascend through Montana forest to our halfway point, Elephant Ridge. The view from here is very nice, you can see the summit ridge. We walk trough the giant heather and moorland vegetation to the Saddle Hut at 3.570 m. From here it's possible to climb Little Meru with its 3.820 m. Dinner and overnight stay in the hut.

Day 4
We get up a short time after midnight and start our climb at around 2 a.m. to the Rhino Point on 3.800 m. It's a steep way and we reach the Cobra Point (4.350 m) at sunrise. We will have a fantastic view on the crater rim, the Ash Cone rising up from the Crater floor and maybe Mount Kilimanjaro. From here we climb to the
summit of Socialist Peak on 4.566 m, taking a steep way. The way back to Rhino Point is on a narrow ridge between the sloping outer wall of the crater and the sheer cliffs of the inner wall. It's one of the most dramatic and exhilarating walks in Africa. We take our breakfast at the Saddle Hut before we descend to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and an overnight stay at the hut.

Day 5
After breakfast we descend through grassland and forest to the Momella park gate and we bring you back to the hotel in Arusha. You can enjoy your afternoon at the hotel, in the evening we transfer you to the Airport / start the safari program.

Attention:
The way over the ridge between the summit and Rhino Point is not suitable for people with vertigo. With bad conditions, with strong winds and ice, it may be impossible for anyone to progress beyond Rhino Point.
