what to expect

The range rises steeply from the surrounding plains at about 1.500 metres to heights of between 2.500 metres and 3.500 meters.Only a few km away, the mountain of Olmoti rises to 100 metres on its western side, with a flat-stopped (plateau); which can early be seen from the Ngorongoro. This mountain also has a small crater.North of these two peaks is Empakaai (Embagai), with steep circular crates, half-filled by a lake. In between the peaks of Olmoti, Loolmaalasin and Empakaai, the ground deeps to from large Embulmbul Depression.The last big eruption was in the mid-1960's and the top of the mountain today you can see hot steam vents and growing ash -cones, it's mountain Ol Doinyo Lengai with both summit at around 2.960 metres.

  • Day 1:Pick up from Kilimanjaro Airport / Transfer to Arusha

    We will pick you from Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer you to Arusha. It will take almost 1 hour to drive. Dinner and accomodation will be in the lodge in Arusha. We will give you all informations about your holiday through your driver and guide there.
  • Day 2: Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater

    After our breakfast we will leave Arusha in the early morning to drive to Ngorongoro Crater. We descend into the crater for the morning game drive. Later we return to the crater rim and drive to Nainokanoka Maasai village with picnic lunch en route. At the crater rim we can discover hundreds of species of birds. We change our transport means and proceed our tour by foot. Donkeys will carry our baggage. We reach Bulati Village to visit Olmoti Crater and waterfalls passing Embulmbul depression. Olmoti Crater is a shallow grassy crater and is the source of the Munge river, which flows through a notch in the crater rim in a spectacular waterfall on its way to Ngorongoro Crater. Dinner and overnight stay at Bulati campsite.
  • Day 3: Walking to Empakai

    After breakfast we hike to Empakai Crater and descend into the crater. In this nice crater you can discover flamingos and other animals, a forest and a deep lake From here you can enjoy a nice view on Oldonyo Lengai, Great Rift Valley and Lake Natron. Dinner and overnight stay on Empakai Crater rim.
  • Day 4: Walking to Naiyobi Village

    After breakfast we descend into the crater to the lake. At the lake shore we can see birds and other animals. Our track follows a gradual descent to Naiyobi village, which means "spring" or "bubbling water". Here we can meat the local people who live from agriculture. Dinner and overnight stay at Lerai campsite.
  • Day 5: Walking to Emouro Engoilil to Summit of Oldonyo Lengai.

    After breakfast we start early to hike through Emouro Engoilil (Pembe ya Swala) to the bottom of Oldonyo Lengai. We follow the way through beautiful grass hills along a ridge running parallel to Great Rift Valley. Oldonyo Lengai mountain with its 2890 m altitude is an active volcano in the south of Lake Natron. We start to climb in the late evening. The path is quite difficult underfoot and steep the whole way. At the rim it turns into powdery ash and feels like walking through deep soft snow. We reach the summit for sunrise. This volcano is active and glowing rock can often be seen bubbling out of the numerous ash cones on the top. Whether we can stay overnight at the summit depends on the weather.
  • Day 6: Descend to the Lake Natron

    Today we descend to the foot of the mountain for the transfer to Ngaresero River which flows north from the crater highlands into Lake Natron. Here you can swim for refreshing. Dinner and overnight stay in the campsite.
  • Day: 07: Activities in Lake Natron/ Afternoon transfer to Mto wa Mbu Village

    After breakfast we drive to Lake Natron to view the sunrise and the flamingos. After a small walk at the lake we depart to Mto wa Mbu Village. On the way we will visit the Engaruka village to see the ruins..you will arrive in Lake Manyara Area at Mto wa Mbu Village around 16 hrs, relax at the pool after a long trekking, or take a shower and enjoy the nature.
  • Day: 08: Cultural program / Transfer to Tarangire National Park

    After a leisure breakfast at the lodge, you will do a cultural program in Mto wa Mbu Village for almost 4 hrs with local hot lunch prepare from the Woman project. After lunch we will drive you to Tarangire national Park for your afternoon game drive to sunset.
  • Day 9: Tarangire Game Driver / Transfer to Arusha

    Today we will do a half day game drive inside the Tarangire National park with Breakfast box until 13, back to the Campsite or Lodge for your Hot lunch. After we will transfer you Arusha in the late afternoon. In the evening we transfer you to the airport / start the safari program

DAY 1

DAY 2

Bulati village is a Maasai settlement in a remote part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The nearest town is about 50 miles distant. The government provides free education for grades 1 through 7. About 600 students attend Bulati Primary School. The children come from nearby Bulati and three other Maasai villages. It is a very unique Maasai village which is worth visiting it during your stay at Ngorongoro conservation area.

DAY 3,4

Possibilities for trekking in Ngorongoro area and exploring the stunning highlands and smaller craters provide a chance for more isolated exploration that offers the rare sense of pure solitude, found only in pristine and remote places. Close to the Ngorongoro Crater there are few additional craters, less famous, but perfect for those who would like to experience walking safari off the beaten track.

Ol Doinyo Lengai, an impressive volcanic crater cone 9,777 feet (2,980 m) high and the only remaining active volcano in this region, located in the Rift Valley, in the heart of Masaai country.

DAY 5 

“Oldoinyo Lengai” means “The Mountain of God” in the Maasai language. The summit of this strato-volcano is 2962 metres above sea level, and affords direct views into the caldera of Tanzania’s only officially-certified active volcano, and the world’s only carbonatite volcano; records of eruptions have been maintained since 1883, the largest of which deposited ash 100 kilometres away in Loliondo on the Kenyan border to the north west.

DAY 6

Engaresero is one of the few villages of wonder in Northern Tanzania full of all the beauty worth much to visit for holiday vacation. The village is located 220 kilometers North-west of Arusha on the southern side of the famous Lake Natron at an altitude of 670 m above sea level. Upon arriving you will experience the panoramic views of different landscape, the plains, the mountains, the great east Africa rift valley, some of the common wildlife and birdlife that are found in there and much more. Actually it takes between 5 to 6 hours of driving from Arusha town.

DAY 7

Let us invite you to discover one of Tanzania's best kept secrets. Lake Manyara, a small breathtaking National Park with an immense natural richness - home of over 380 bird species, including the thousands of flamingos that tint the soda waters of the Lake pink and the famous tree-climbing lions, which for reasons unknown sleep in the branches of acacia trees.

 Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge is strategically located on the very edge of the vertiginous western escarpment of the Rift Valley, affording magnificent views down across the whole Lake.

DAY 8

Welcome to a TarangireRoika Tented Lodge a unique Flora & Fauna of Shrublands and Acacia Woodlands with hearty Baobab Trees strewn around. Welcome to the Birds’ Paradise of over 500 bird species. Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge is situated roughly 125km from Arusha town and is ideally accessible by Dodoma Road although it can also be reached by air since there is an airstrip just nearby in the Park.The lodge lies nestled on the banks of Tarangire River and a mere 5km away from the Maim Entrace to Tarangire National Park. The lodge is also within driving distance to Lake Manyara and the famous Ngorongoro Crater.
